Before You Rent Assess your skill level: Choose a board appropriate for your experience. Beginners should opt for larger, higher-volume boards, while more experienced surfers can choose smaller boards for specific wave types. Review rental terms: Read the policy thoroughly to understand your responsibilities, especially regarding damage and loss. Inspect the board: Before accepting the rental, inspect the board for any existing dings or cracks and have the rental shop document them to avoid being charged for previous damage. Provide a deposit: A security deposit is often required and can be forfeited in cases of loss, theft, or significant damage. During Your Rental Handle with care: Treat the board as your own, but understand you are liable for any damage caused by improper use. Use responsibly: Only use the board in appropriate surf conditions for your skill level. Avoid unattended use: Do not leave the board unattended, especially in public areas, to prevent theft or damage. Report damage immediately: Report any defects, breakage, loss, or theft of the board as soon as possible. After Your Rental Return in original condition: The board should be returned in the same condition it was rented, allowing for normal wear and tear. Clean the board: Ensure the board is rinsed with fresh water and free of sand or debris before returning it. Be aware of early returns: If you return the board early, you may not be entitled to a refund of any rental costs already paid. Key Considerations Damage fees: dings and cracks: if the board gets a ding we will charge you just the cost of repair, in the other hand if the board breaks we would change the current cost.
